The music world is abuzz with the news that CROWBAR has canceled its highly anticipated European tour, 'Confess To Nothing', due to the health concerns of its frontman, Kirk Windstein. This decision comes as a shock to fans and critics alike, as it marks the first time in the band's 36-year history that they have had to cancel a tour. The tour was set to commence on July 27, 2026, at the Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Brașov, Romania, and conclude on August 7, 2026, at the Alcatraz Metal Festival in Kortrijk, Belgium.
In a video message, Windstein revealed that he has been struggling with a bilateral synovial cyst on his spine, which has been flaring up and causing significant discomfort. This condition, which is a fluid-filled sac that forms between joints in the spine, has forced him to undergo physical therapy and unfortunately, cancel the tour. Windstein expressed his disappointment, understanding the disappointment of fans, and assured them that they will make up for the missed shows next year.
This isn't the first time Windstein has faced health issues on tour. Last year, he had to perform sitting down during the CROWBAR/EYEHATEGOD U.S. tour due to the same condition. The band's latest album, 'Zero And Below', released in April 2022, was produced, mixed, and mastered by Duane Simoneaux and received critical acclaim for its unforgivably doom-driven sound, a nod to the band's early days with 'Odd Fellows Rest'.
CROWBAR, formed in 1990, has been a pivotal force in the doom metal scene, blending upbeat hardcore with a unique sound influenced by THE MELVINS, CARNIVORE, TROUBLE, SAINT VITUS, and BLACK SABBATH. The band's evolution over the years has been a testament to Windstein's leadership, as he remains the only original member, guiding the band through various lineups and 12 critically acclaimed albums. The current lineup includes Windstein, guitarist Matt Brunson, drummer Tommy Buckley, and returning bassist Pat Bruders.
